EPISODE 206 REFLECTION QUESTION
QUESTION | what parts of yourself have you abandoned in order to be liked?
STACY’S REPLY |
this is a question I started asking myself two years ago and recently even more. as I have been peeling back layers getting closer to my authentic self, I am relearning to love the parts of myself that I have abandoned. currently, I'm reckoning with my indecisiveness and the fact that a lot of it comes from my need to please. my first reaction to a situation is usually to make a decision that's easier for everyone instead of the decision that's easier for myself. the more I learn to make decisions for myself, I have also had to become comfortable with disappointing others in the process, in order not to abandon myself. on one end it's an amazing new reality and on the other hand, it's still hard work!! regardless, I refuse to let go of this commitment. It's not always easy, and I don't always get it right but the commitment to express myself as my authentic self is worth every bit of the journey. what about you, what have you abandoned about yourself?
