EPISODE 212 REFLECTION QUESTION

QUESTION | what is the last thing you forgave yourself for for the first time?

this is my favorite question of the season, and now it’s my turn. the last thing i forgave myself for was assuming that my need for control was because i was a bad person. i have been sitting with this a lot in therapy and bringing up moments that i noticed i needed things to go “my way” and i really beat myself up about this. i thought it was because i wasn’t flexible or i was what we call a “control freak” but i’ve been learning that the need comes from a deep rooted fear from childhood. i’m still in the process of unpacking it all but that realization gave me the space to release my shame and even more so, my control because i didn’t need it as much as i thought i did. it’s a powerful thing when we give ourselves permission to understand who we are deeper without judgment. all of a sudden, grace abounds and forgiveness for ourselves and for others is more abundant than ever. i wish that for you friends and i will continue to wish that for us all.

with love and gratitude, stace
